Driving Assessment at your home
Our friendly team come to your residence, offering convenience and peace of mind for our clients. By conducting assessments in the familiar surroundings of your home, your family and friends are welcome to sit in during the assessment process.
Brief Waiting Times
Unlike other providers who have several months’ waiting lists, we boast short waiting times. We understand that Icare participants are often eager to return to driving and work, and we aim to see you within 2-3 weeks of making the referral. In line with our commitment to minimise waiting times, we may be able to book appointments on the weekends, after hours or on public holidays.
Efficient Reporting to RMS and treating Icare team
We understand the urgency involved with submitting assessment reports to the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) and getting you back on the road. At Modified Driving Solutions, we guarantee to complete your details report within 24 hours of completing the assessment. This commitment ensures a prompt and streamlined process.
Coverage Beyond Sydney
We acknowledge that outside of Sydney, there are sometimes scarce services that specialise in OT driving assessments. While we are Sydney-based, we may be able to see people in other regions of New South Wales beyond the Greater Sydney area.
To Book in for an Assessment
Step 1: Contact Us
Contact us via phone or email. This can be by you, your doctor or Icare case worker. We need to know your personal details, nature of your injury and Icare claim number. We will respond to your enquiry within 24 hours.
Step 2: Schedule Your Assessment
Once we have all the details of your situation and Icare claim, we will organise an assessment date that works for you.
Step 3: Assessment at Your Home
Our driver trained Occupational Therapists will visit your home for the assessment. It takes 2 hours and involves conducting off-road and on-road tests. This includes driving a dual control car with a driving instructor. Any vehicle modifications required will also be supplied.
Step 4: Report and RMS notification Within 24 Hours
Post-assessment, we will complete a comprehensive report outlining our findings and recommendations. This report is promptly submitted to the RMS within 24 hours, so you can rediscover the sensation of driving as soon as possible. Your Icare team and treating doctor will also be provided with the report, ensuring a more coordinated and transparent resolution. If supplementary driving lessons and/or vehicle modifications have been recommended, we can also expedite this.
